Hangover 2 rakes in millions
During its box office opening weekend, The Hangover 2 garnered an amazing 103.4 million dollars. It was considered both a great surprise and an achievement for garnering such a great number on a debut.
Most of the success of the movie is attributed to the great appeal it gave to young moviegoers, which is 54% of the total number of viewers. This is the first movie in months which has really caught the attention of film fans. Warner Bros. is taking pride in the achievement.
Coming in at second place, over the May 27 to May 30 weekend, is Kung Fu Panda 2, which brought in 66.6 million dollars. Families were seen in packs at the cinemas, eagerly lining up for this sequel. Starring the original cast from the first movie– Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Lucy Liu, Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan, and Seth Rogen– Kung Fu Panda 2 is a family treat to see with loved ones.
In third place over the weekend gross is Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides with 39.8 million dollars, which is currently on its second week.
