How to Train Your Dragon sequel soon to be seen
For all those who loved Toohtless the dragon, they’ll be getting more of him in the upcoming sequel. The script is now complete and storyboarding for the movie has already begun and co-director Dean DeBlois told the media that this is the second movie of a trilogy.
In an interview, DeBlois stated, “There are certain characters and situations that come to play in the second film that will become much more crucial to the story by the third. Other threads from the first will begin to pay themselves off in the second.”
The story of the current sequel revolves around Hiccup transitioning to becoming the leader of their clan. With Toothless, the story expands way beyond their little Viking island Berk, as they go on adventures that help Hiccup become a man.
Actor Jay Baruchel, the voice of Hiccup, is excited about the project. He said “I’m going to be starting work on it this year, yeah.” The actor also added that the movie is not merely a sequel but is another chapter of the adventure. “And it’s not a sequel; it’s a chapter two. Because there are eight [sic] books, so it’s not just finding crazy situations to put our characters in. It’s very much a second act of a three act thing.” The movie is an adaptation of a series of nine books, of a fictional children’s novel about the Viking world, written by British author Cressida Cowell.
The first “How to Train Your Dragon” earned two Academy Award nominations and grossed about 500 million dollars worldwide. This sequel will hit the theaters in June 20, 2014.
