Family Getaway Movie of the Week: Kung Fu Panda 2

If you and your family are looking forward to a day or a weekend of bonding and fun, why not watch Kung Fu Panda 2? It is a great movie to watch with the whole family.

Kung Fu Panda 2 is a comedy, action and adventure animation for all ages, directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson and written by Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger created by Paramount Studios and DreamWorks.

In the movie, Po (voice of Jack Black) is living his dream of being the Dragon Warrior together with the furious five: Tigress (voice of Angelina Jolie), Monkey (voice of Jackie Chan), Mantis (voice of Seth Rogen), Viper (voice of Lucy Liu), and Crane (voice of David Cross) they are protector of the Valley of Peace. But Po’s life of awesomeness is threatened by the evil plans of a villain named Lord Shen (voice of Gary Oldman).

Lord Shen is an albino peacock who is hungry for power created a weapon that brought color and beauty but could also destroy all of China. But years ago his future was foretold that he will be defeated by black and white. Driven with determination and would not allow any hindrance, he sent army of wolves to kill all pandas in the land. Because of this, Po was left orphan.

Angry because of what Shen had done and with unresolved issues for the search of who he really is, Po should master the technique of inner peace to defeat the evil invention of Lord Shen.

This storyline makes this a family movie getaway. Because of a theme that is centered on the family—with Po accepting his past and embracing the family that had raised him (father goose), any type of family, whether a traditional one or an alternative that is common these days, will surely have an awesome time.
