Rihanna Lets Loose On A Dutch Editor Who Used A Slanderous Word To Describe Her
The world renowned singer “Rihanna” let loose on an editor who works for a Dutch magazine this week. She is really upset that she was referred to as a N**ga B*tch by the magazine. The editor has claimed that the whole point of the story was to portray Rihanna as a good girl gone bad. It was supposedly giving the star props for displaying that proudly. However, that is not the way Rihanna sees it.
Rihanna was said to be very upset about the comment, and she posted a comment on her twitter page firing back at the magazine editor. The statement read “I hope u can read English, because your magazine is a poor representation of the evolution of human rights!”
She said she found the comment to be really disrespectful and that it was nothing more than a ploy to get attention. Because of the backlash the editor, whose name is Hoeke, has had to resign from her position. She offered up an apology that did not seem sincere. She originally believed the slur would be considered a joke.
The Dutch magazine is hoping they can talk things out with the star and if they can they are hoping to have her in another issue. I would not imagine that Rihanna will be doing another piece for the magazine anytime soon.
Of course stories like this always bring up the same debate, and that is whether or not the words used here should be able to be used by all. The thing is this, such words are used amongst friends all the time or those who are in your private circle of friends. When one of them says it, it is not taken the wrong way. When someone who is outside of the circle comes in thinking they can say it, well that just does not work.
There is certain social protocol that needs to be followed. Certain friends use the word amongst each other and they seem to accept it. If someone outside of you social circle makes a certain comment to you then you do not know how they mean it. You do not know if they are trying to disrespect you or if they mean no harm.
The bottom line is whoever put the green light on this article definitely was not thinking and probably did not think the backlash would be what it was.
