The movie would definitely reach stratospheric heights of success where the movie direction of Clint Eastwood is impeccable and the portrayal of the character of J Edgar by none other than the modern king of Hollywood, Leonardo DiCaprio.

Despite being an unpopular character due to his rumored Machiavellian way of dealing, J Edgar was able to survive the tenure of over 7 presidents with his ability to bend the truth or uphold it and coerce personalities of high stature to perform certain steps which corresponded to his ideas of justice. I would rate this movie a solid 9 out of 10.
